On the Phone with… RNDM
As it turns out, I was around when the moment of creation happened for RNDM. Joseph Arthur was playing the PJ20 festival and had recently given a guest vocal on a Jeff Ament solo cut. After playing it live on that grey day in September, the prolific songwriter and Pearl Jam bassist decided to take it a step further. Fast forward a few months later to what was only suppose to be a jam session at Ament’s Montana house, turns out to be a completely written and recorded album in 4 days. So, yeah, now they’re a band. T-shirts, hats, touring in an un-stolen van, matching haircuts & outfits, big rock star moves, the whole deal.
Now that you have the history, here’s the phone call I had with them.

It was great to hear you all talk and share how the group and songs have come together. Hope I’m able to see your show in Milwaukee. Thanks for posting the interview.
Love this interview. Nice that joe was compared to Gary Sharone…wow.
