Along with the biggest blog fare, Sean hangs out with Damien Jurado. Lots to check out, so dig in.

But that’s half the fun. We love to debate not just the artists, but the awards themselves. Me, I love an awards show, and I’m not picky on what they’re celebrating. Just a great way to get a lot of interesting people in the same spot and see what happens. I don’t know who will win tonight, and honestly, I haven’t kept up with many of the categories. I’d say it’s a safe bet on Adele, and we’ll all be tuning in to see how well the last minute Whitney tribute comes off, but I’ll also be watching to celebrate another year of highs and lows, the good and the forgettable, that is, except for the half hour that The Simpsons are on.

Stick around until the end and you’ll be rewarded with a live performance of Little Hell’s first single, Fragile Bird.

As for the music, it was pretty great to hear so many great bands getting some commercial placement. Fun, The Cult, Echo & the Bunnymen, etc. I can’t remember any Super Bowl of the past that I was able to pick out so many artists.

This week’s show features all the usual, great blog fare, as well as a chat with Dallas Green from City and Colour. Dig in.

Another week with plenty of musical absurdities. Republicans can’t seem to figure out that they simply cannot get away with using most artist’s music (sidebar, did you know Survivor was still together?). Katy Perry is filming a 3D drug trip, perfect for 12 yr olds on ‘shrooms. James Murphy continues the new trend of musicians who have their own brand of coffee/tea/chicken/waffles/alloftheaboveatonce. And the passing of Don Cornelius.

Like most of you, it was through the tune Bruises, but to this day, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that iPod commercial (yay, radio!). While the rest of their debut, Does You Inspire You, wasn’t near as poppy, it did project a band that was knee-deep in something artistically special. For their new album Something, the now duo have married their art streak with the pop sensibility that originally attracted us into what has quickly become my favorite album of the year.

So, what happened this week? Well, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy is now producing coffee. Strong enough to put hair on yer chest… er, face! Someone snuck one past the Disney execs and somehow got Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasure made into a Mickey head. And finally, Iggy Pop is the ambassador for Record Store Day 2012. What does that mean? Oh, it’s the most fantastic quote of the week and it’s waiting inside.
